Rumores en el Blogosphere

OJO! I've UPDATED this post!

Taking a clue from a few other sites I follow, I've decided to give this a try. Some blog loving. A few posts I recommend for this week.

"Botas y disco ball," from the exhibit Milli es una histérica at Estación Cero, Oaxaca, Mexico, February 2011.
On proving citizenship: check out the Unapologetic Mexican on the Obama Trump saga and what it means for the rest of us.

On May Day: photo essay, street vendors working on May day in L.A. at Multi-American.

On Cinco de Mayo: check out this short but sweet piece at Racialicious from a few years back. Also check out Alt.Latino's podcast on up-and-coming Mexican musicians with a little sprinkling of LA Mexican History.

On feminisms and intersectionality: check out What Tami Said on how to blog on race, feminisms and equality...  LOVED this piece! Also check out Feminism for Real, responding o the mainstream feminist blogosphere.

Anecdotes: from the trenches of the LA Book festival. A Chicano cuenta cuentos from the student movement and more at interections.

On the Borderlands: a book review, Making a Killing: Feminicide, Free rade, and La Frontera also published at Feminist Texican.

Reflections on violence: given the recent news, everything from the Royal Wedding, to the Marcha por la Paz in Mexico, and the killing of Osama Bin Ladden, Empezo a Volar's reflections are not only timely but beautiful.

Any blogs you suggest getting to this week? (Shameless self promotion is allowed and highly encouraged ;)
